Jesus reaching out His hand

Looking to the future

Written by James Rathman
Although we want to have a conscience, we never want to be unforgiving to ourselves for our past actions. Jesus forgives us for our sins when we repent and ask Him to forgive us…so we can forgive ourselves also.
But, by reflecting to our own personal history for productive reasons, we can use the truth of who we are for useful purposes. One of these purposes is to have a humble basis to grow from in our relationship with God.
Every situation that we might encounter in life, good or bad, God is always with us. We might have difficult times in which our hopes don’t turn out the way we wanted them to. However, we are never without God’s love.
In this temporary human occurrence that our spirits are experiencing, there is only one path that we can take which includes common sense. God is all merciful. God wants us to hold to the truth of who we are and who He is while looking to Him for our future. God wants us to do that so he can shower us with everlasting blessings of love.
What can we do right now at this moment, other than grow from our past and focus on Jesus and our future with our Savior.
