In memory of Jimmy Santoro

Written by Anthony Santoro
By brother Jimmy was born on August 13th, 1962. He passed away on October 7th, 2007, at the age of 45 years. He was always a good kid when he was little. His life of hell began when he was about 13. He started using drugs and drinking alcohol. By the time he was in his 30s he started using crack cocaine, and things got much worse. He went to jail for robbing a Turkey Hill Mini-Market Store because he needed a fix. He could never hold a job because of his addiction. By the time he was 40 he was so bad that he would steal things from my mother and give it to the dealers for crack. The drugs destroyed his heart and that’s what killed him. I knew he was going to die. I tried to tell him. I think about him all the time. Almost every night I have crazy dreams about him, as if I’m somehow going back in time and trying to warn him. I wish I could. I can only hope he is with Jesus and has peace now because he never had it here on earth.
