Throughout the Bible, one story after another yields examples and the end results of people either doing things their own way, or God’s way.
The love that God has for us, warns us repeatedly in Scripture, that someone will have accountability when He gives them blessings and they reject them to do things their own way. Some of the people written about in the Bible are so wicked that they don’t recognize when they are being punished by God. Countless Biblical narratives have plots of God’s children taking their blessings for granted, and then blaming God and others for the problems that they’ve created for themselves.
I’ve personally suffered many times in the past for this particular horrific oversight and iniquity. At times, I’ve lashed out and blamed God and others for the suffering that I’ve caused to myself and to others. I praise God for the wisdom to strive to be in a perpetual state of self-reflection, accountable, and readily in repentance for closeness to God and His peace.
